Smuggled ivory seized in Thailand
Animal tusks are displayed by customs officials in Thailand.

Officers seized the haul of almost 160 individual pieces at Bangkok's international airport.

They say it's worth over $700,000.

The cache was seized after the authorities were tipped off to be on the lookout for a shipment disguised as handicrafts.

Originally from Kenya, the smuggled ivory weighs 450 kilogrammes (1005 lbs) in total.

Its final destination was expected to be Thailand, but further investigation is underway.
