Berlin takes fashion underground

Fashion hits the rails.

During Berlin Fashion Week, one of the city's "U-Bahn" trains becomes the meeting point of the innovative and independent fashion scene.

Young designers and labels showcase their new collections inside a moving underground train - presenting everything from latex to somewhat more intimate pieces of jewelry.

The head of Rockstar Models, Alexander van Hessen, who also organized the event, says despite being in its seventh year the show is still unique.

SOUNDBITE: Alexander van Hessen, catwalk underground organizer, saying (German):

"To keep it fresh we just have to keep finding new and creative designers who present their collections here, that is the most important part. The location will not be changed as it is crazy enough and it will stay that way. Every year the popularity of the show grows, I am sometimes surprised myself. Of course our capacities are limited as we can only take as many people as fit into a subway train."

Berlin Fashion Week ends on July 8.
