Thai police torch drugs worth $200m

4,000 kilograms of drugs confiscated by Thai authorities in the last year.
The ministry of public health incinerated the store, in a torching of confiscated narcotics that has taken place annually in Thailand since the 1960s.
This year's stock was worth nearly 222 million U.S. dollars, and came from more than a thousand drug cases that included methamphetamine pills, heroine, liquid codeine and opium.
According to Thai police, the drugs are mainly confiscated from the border regions.
Thailand's Ministry of Public Health said 81 percent of the country's 300,000 drug abusers this year were addicted to methamphetamine - with half aged seven to 24 years old.
