Lifting off in a Hot Air Balloon Sussex
A huge crowd today at the 26th Atlantic International Balloon Fiesta held in Sussex , New Brunswick. Amusements, Helicopter Rides, Horses, Live Bands, lots of great food, and the weather cooperated so the Balloons could lift off to the crowds enjoyment. Next time the balloon's will fly is Sunday morning at 6:30 A.M. The balloons cost between 18,000 and 25,000 or more. Takes about 15 minutes to inflate one. Balloons fly only in the early morning and early evening-never during the day. The danger of flying during the day is caused by thermal activity, which is generated by they sun. By-products of thermal activity are down-drafts and up-drafts. If a balloon gets caught in a down-draft, which are likely during the day, it would not have enough power to fight it and probably crash to the ground.
