Changing the body's sleep cycle to fit shift-based work cycles could increase your risk of diabetes and obesity, research shows.

Medical researchers at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston say that according to their study, the bodies of people who have their natural sleep cycle tampered with begin to absorb food in dangerous ways.

For example, glucose levels tend to spike higher, and remain so for longer - increasing the risk of diabetes.
