The H 4 halogen lamp did survive in ice. I expected the quartz glass to crack but that didn't happen. Surprised that the thermal stress on the glass 500° inside and 0° outside, didn't cause a faillure as the outside normally is subjected to the air. I increased the voltage to about 17 volts , the lamp current was over 7 Amps! Then the filament burnt out.
