Irregularities beset Darfur poll vote

Only a few thousand people are expected to vote in Darfur's internally displaced persons camps due to under-registration, but proceedings did not go smoothly for those who did turn out to cast their vote.

There were complaints that many ballot papers were delivered to the wrong places, and some candidates said their names did not even appear on the ballot papers.

The candidates took their complaints to the electoral commission but it said the irregularities were too many to count.
