Israel opposes Palestinian unity deal

Palestinian factions have signed a unity deal which paves the way for legislative and presidential elections within a year.

The agreement aims to end a four-year-old feud between rivals Fatah and Hamas.

But Binyamin Netahnyahu, the Israeli prime minister, opposes the agreement and has asked Fatah leaders to abandon it.

Al Jazeera's Mohamed Vall reports from the Egyptian capital Cairo, where the deal was signed.
