Lebanese forces kill two Syrian opposition members

Two Syrian opposition members are dead --- killed by Lebanese soldiers in the northern part of the country. Syrian unrest is spilling over into neighboring Lebanon and fueling tesion between Sunnis and members of the Alawite sect ---the same sect that President Bashar al Assad belongs to.

According to the military, Sheikh Ahmed Abdul Wahid and Khaled Miraib were shot in their car as they sped through a checkpoint without stopping. One of the men was reported to be a Sunni Muslim cleric.

Anger over their killing prompted some to block the roads leading into the northern Lebanese town of Akkar. Many Sunni Muslims in Lebanon sympathise with Syria's Sunni-led uprising against Assad.
