Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, has marked the anniversary of the Islamic revolution 31 years ago, addressing supporters in Azadi (Freedom) square.

The Iranian president restated Iran's decision to increase the enrichment level of uranium to 20 per cent, just days after Western powers called for increased sanctions on Iran.

According to a survey by the World Public Opinion group, support for Ahmadinejad appears to be strong, with 55 per cent of Iranians say they would still vote for him, compared to only 14 per cent who say they'd vote for Mir Hossain Mousavi, the opposition leader

From Azadi square, Tehran, Nazanin Moshiri reports.
