Concerns rise over Sri Lanka civilian deaths - 12 May 09

The United Nations has expressed concern over violence in Sri Lanka as the death toll continues to rise, with a doctor working in the country's so-called safe zone saying at least 47 people died on Tuesday when his hospital was attacked.

Tamil Tiger rebels blamed the government but the army denied the claim.
