Indonesian rescue teams have finally started airlifting the bodies of the Russian plane crash victims from the scene of the tragedy.

They began moving the victims to Jakarta on Saturday.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 crashed into a remote hillside in West Java on Wednesday.

There were 45 passengers and crew on board.

No survivors have been found.

Indonesia's deployed 1, 000 personnel and seven helicopters to help with the search and recovery operation.

Footage supplied by one of the rescue teams shows the steep terrain and dense forestry they're up against.

Debris from the plane is seen strewn down the side of the mountain.

The plane crashed during an exhibition flight intended to drum up sales for the Russian passenger jet.

The victims include Indonesian reporters and business people, eight Russians including embassy officials and plane crew, two Italians, one French national and one American, according to officials.

The cause of the crash isn't yet known.
