Despite Nato assurances that its military exercises in Georgia pose no threat to Russia, Moscow is furious.

Kremlin officials are calling the exercises, just nine months after Russia and Georgia were at war, a provocation and hopes of a new era in co-operation with the military alliance are fast eroding.
