The nine survivors of the Chilean plane crash have been plucked from Chile's frigid southern forests and reunited with their families.

The plane was carrying ten people which disappeared four days ago in a Chilean forest.

The plane went down on Saturday on a flight south from Puerto Mont to La Junta, in the Aisen region.

The nine survivors stayed alive by sleeping in their coats and sharing what food they had.

The only fatality was the 65-year-old pilot Nelson Bahamondes.

Al Jazeera's Lucy Keating reports on the rescue mission.
