The creation of Israel was a defining battleground in 20th century struggles; where men known as terrorists to their colonial rulers were quickly transformed into statesmen. It is also a defining battleground today in the linguistics used by journalists. The Israeli nation was born using violent methods that some Palestinians espouse today, yet this resistance is generally called terrorism while Israeli violence is often considered self-defence.
