Syrian refugees angered by violence

Syrian refugees at the Yayladagi camp in Turkey condemn the latest outbreak of violence across Syria.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) SYRIAN REFUGEE, ADIL MUHAMMAD ABID, SAYING:

"The attacks are not only in Hama; they are going on around all of Syria. This regime will not stop killing, because the regime knows that, if it stops killing, that means the regime falls."

Opposition activists said forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also shelled the town of Homs, the first artillery fire since a U.N.-backed ceasefire came into effect two days ago.

The ceasefire, aimed at halting more than a year of bloodshed in Syria, appeared to be holding near the Turkey-Syria border, despite clashes in the region on Friday between rebels and Assad loyalists.

Here, Syrian soldiers can be seen manning an outpost on the border.

The U.N. Security Council is tentatively scheduled to vote on a draft resolution authorising a U.N. team to monitor the fragile truce.
