On Tuesday, a hailstorm struck Taijiang County in southwest China’s Guizhou Province, wreaking extensive damages.

About 25 people were taken to the Taijiang Hospital—two sustained serious injuries.

The hailstorm pelted 47 villages in four towns of Taijiang County of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefectures.

The largest hail was about 1.5 inches in diameter, weighing more than half an ounce.

Power amenities were broken, causing power-cuts. Streetlights, telecommunication services, crops, forests, and houses in the four towns were damaged.

The storm stopped around seven o’clock on Tuesday evening. Rescue and relief work went in progress—and by ten pm, the power supply was restored.
