Syrian refugees return to bury dead

Reyhanli refugee camp in Turkey is home to Syrian refugees fleeing the violent conflict back home.

But around 200 refugees are now piling their possessions into these vans in order to return home to Syria.

The move comes days before a ceasefire agreed by President Bashar al-Assad takes effect.

But one man denies they are returning to peace and security in the country.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) SYRIAN REFUGEE, MOAZ SAID ALI, SAYING:

"We are returning to Syria so we can bury our dead martyrs, we are not returning because there is peace and security. State TV (Al Dunya), those liars, they are reporting Syrians are returning to peace and security -- we are returning to bury the dead and continue the revolution. We shall continue the revolution until we bring Bashar down."

As Syrian forces continue with their military offensive, refugees fleeing the violence continue to cross the border with Turkey.

A Turkish foreign ministry official, who declined to be named, said the Syrian military had been mining the border area to restrict the flow of refugees.
