Remember all of the hoopla surrounding Apple's iPhone when it was discovered that iOS 4 devices were saving GPS information that could theoretically be used to track a user's location history? Now, Android users who smugly dismissed themselves from such worries may be horrified to know that their phones are likely tracking much more information than simply where they've traveled. Angelo Carosio talks about a nasty bit of software, called Carrier IQ, that essentially works as a keylogger — saving every bit of data entered into the phone for, as its parent company says, tracking "performance." The worst thing: almost all manufacturers secretly install this software on the Android phones that they make! Worried? Angelo tells you how you can get rid of this crap if it happens to be residing on your phone.
