STORY: International stars added a spot of glamour to the Echo music awards in Berlin on Thursday evening (March 22). Pop stars including Katy Perry and Lana del Rey walked down the red carpet for the music event, which is hosted every year by the German association of recording companies.

Marilyn Manson was looking forward to presenting the German industrial metal band Rammstein with an award and also to taking part in a joint performance, he told reporters on his arrival at the event hall.

Also one of the icons of pop, Barry Manilow, made his way over from the United States to promote his latest offering.

"So we got a brand new live album out that I recorded in Britain a couple of months ago with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, a beautiful album live and they are crazy about it, so here I am to shamelessly promote my latest live album," Manilow told reporters.

The first edition of the Echo awards was held in 1992 in Cologne.
