Soccer star critically ill

This was the moment midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed during a match playing for UK soccer team Bolton Wanderers.

He's in a critical condition in hospital.

The player's been taken to the Heart Attack Centre at the London Chest Hospital where he's in intensive care.

Fans who witnessed the drama were stunned.

"You think people are so fit, these guys. It just shows you it can happen to anybody doesn't it."

SOUNDBITE: MARTIN BARLOW, BOLTON WANDERERS FAN, SAYING (English):

"I absolutely love him. I was gutted. I just hope he comes through."

Muamba, born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and an England Under-21 international, joined Bolton from Birmingham City in a deal worth about eight million dollars.
