January 2010! It's been a busy year, with lots of gigs both here in Ireland and at various folk festivals in Sweden, Germany & Austria. Here's a little info for those who don't know Lynda....
Born in Gorey, Co. Wexford, in the south east of Ireland, Lynda began writing songs as a teenager. After completing a degree in philosophy at the Milltown Institute in Dublin, she moved to South Korea to teach English.Two years later she became a member of the Korean 'ethnic fusion' band 'Second Moon.' In March 2005, they released their debut album ,picking up 3 awards at the 2006 Korean Real Music Awards.
After 5 years in Korea, having a 'damn good time,' Lynda is now back in Ireland and has just finished 3 years of studying Music, Management and Sound at Colaiste Stiofain Naofa in the wonderful city of Cork.
Lynda's song 'Communication' is featured on the compilation album Open/Play/Listen which was launched in March of 2007 on CSN's own label, Stepping Stone Records. Her debut solo EP entitled 'The Orange Tree,' was independently released to great acclaim in August 2008 and was favourable reviewed by Hot Press. Her debut solo album will be released in summer 2010.
