In the title track from Acres Of Lions debut album, entitled "Working", singer-guitarist Jeffrey K shouts the words of an anthem that captures the heart of the band:
"Work hard, make your body sting. Make something out of nothing."
A simple statement perhaps, but you need look no further than the band's self-booked tour dates since the album's Canadian release on February 10, 2009 to realize the band practices what they preach - more than 80 live concerts; across six provinces; with an odometer reading of 45 thousand plus kilometers.
Released on indie label Cordova Bay Records (Fontana North distribution), 'Working' has already been well received by Canadian and college radio stations - with the first single 'Closer' getting airplay.
This winter will also see 'Working' released in the UK under the Fierce Panda label - responsible for introducing the world to such artists as Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, iLiKETRAiNS, Art Brut, and Keane.
Continued touring throughout Western Canada is planned for the winter of 2010, with a full regiment of Canadian tour dates in the works for 2011.
Latest News: Acres Of Lions has been selected as one of the Top 20 artists in BC for the Peak Performance Project. Throughout the summer the band is engaged in various competitions and training programs with a potential final grand prize of $100,000!
