The man who plays the violin quicker than anyone else in the world has just had his prize winning assets insured for a huge seven figure sum.

Oliver Lewis, 39, from London, England broke the Guinness World Record last month LIVE on the BBC by playing Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Flight of the Bumblebee' in 1 minute 3.356 seconds. He wowed the audience with the sheer speed of his fingers as he hit more than 13 notes per second during his performance.

Lewis, who is currently playing on stage in Oliver! The Musical in London and will soon be touring with War of the Worlds in the UK revealed: "After everyone seemed so amazed by my fingers someone suggested I insure them." Specialist Insurance Intermediary company Hencilla Canworth were called in to evaluate the worth of his prized digits. Lewis has already insured his violin with the company.

Mike McCormack from Hencilla Canworth said: "We recognize the need for musicians such as Oliver to protect their livelihood and we are delighted to assist in playing our part."

Despite the worth of his fingers, at $100,000 each, Lewis stated that nothing will change as he has always taken good care of them.

"I stay away from chopping knives and don't feed animals with sharp teeth!" he joked. "But I do have specific finger exercise routines which I do twice a day. I have to keep them strong and as fit as a fiddle!"

Lewis's career is now soaring with a whole swathe of commercial engagements lined up including an exclusive one man show in Hong Kong and performances in China this month. He will also heading to the US in January, when he will attempt to break his existing world record yet again.
