Red Cross attempts to broker Syrian ceasefire

As fighting continues in Syria the International Committee of the Red Cross says it is negotiating with the government and opposition fighters in the hope of securing a ceasefire.

The aid agency said it is exploring the possibility of a temporary cessation of fighting in hotspots like Homs, so that that life-saving aid can be brought to civilians.
