In his time as a recording artist, Cox has released 12 albums. He tends to release two types of albums, one with big ensembles and collaborations with other musicians he admires (the award-winning China is a fine example) and the other purely as a solo guitarist with zero embellishments. He has won three South African music awards (SAMA), all in the best instrumental category. It is a category he seems to dominate in the country. He now resides in the UK, tours world-wide as a solo artist appearing regularly at major festivals and has recently released his album 'The Best of Tony Cox' in Canada where he tours annually.
