Stars shine on SAG Awards red carpet

Purple was the color of choice at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (January 29). Stars took to the red carpet in style, many ladies choosing to wear burgundies, violets and deep purples. The men stayed relatively conservative with black suits and tuxedos.
Michelle Williams went for bold with a red lace Valentino dress. Sofia Vergara opted for a form-fitting burgundy Marchesa gown.
Black was also a popular choice for some actresses. Glenn Close wore a tiered taffeta Zac Posen dress, Emma Stone smiled brightly in a bouncy tea-length black dress by Alexander McQueen. Angelina Jolie wore a form fitting Jenny Packham dress. Nick Nolte was mono-chromatic with black tux, vest, shirt and bowtie.
Octavia Spencer, any early winner for bet supporting actress, shimmered in a silver Tadashi Shoji.
The SAG honors are closely watched in the race for Oscars, following on the heels of the Golden Globe, Critics' Choice and other guild specific awards.
The Oscars will be given out on February 26 in Hollywood.
