And we told you last week about the finals of an international modeling competition being held in Shanghai. The Elite Model Look competition has been a starting point for some of the world's top models. This week, a winner was crowned in a night of glitz and glamour. Let's take a look.

15-year-old Julia Schneider is from a place far removed from the hustle of 21st century Shanghai: the small Swedish town of Gavle.

Yet she won out over competitors from 63 different countries, all gathered in China's business hub to vie for one of modeling's most sought-after prizes.

[Julia Schneider, Model]:
"About winning today, it has been amazing. I am in shock and we will see what happens next."

On Tuesday, Schneider was crowned the winner of the 2011 Elite Model Look World Final.

The contest aims at discovering young talents who can be turned into international supermodels. Schneider gets a modeling contract as part of her prize.

Some major supermodels have gotten their start with Elite Model Look, including Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Gisele Bundchen. It's a list any aspiring model would be eager to join.
