Workers reclaim Bangkok airport

Workers at Bangkok's Don Muang domestic airport shore up flood defences.
The airport is already inundated with water, but the sandbags and plastic sheeting are to stop additional flooding as preparations are made to reclaim the airport.
Official say they will start pumping water out from the airport once the water level subsides on the main road.
But residents say it will not be good for those living nearby.

"It will have a bad impact on residents around here but it's good for the airport to recover. Residents around here will be in trouble if they recover the airport. Floodwaters will increase as more water will be pumped out from the airport. It will be flooded for a longer time."
The Transport Ministry says the government has approved a budget of more than one billion baht - around $32 million USD - for the recovery of Don Muang airport.
