Scriptures quote that "If somebody burns a lamp in the temple of Lord Sri Hari even for a short time (in the month of Kartik), then whatever sins, he has acquired for millions of kalpas (one kalpa equals 1000 mahayugas) are all destroyed."

During this festival, ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna Mandir, Bangalore is decorated with thousands of lamps and there is display of grand fireworks. The temple altar is decorated with lamps of various shapes and sizes. The enchanting song Damodarashtaka, describing Damodara lila of Lord Krishna is sung to commemorate this pastime of the lord. During this month the devotees take a vow to offer a ghee lamp to the Deities of Sri Sri Radha Krishna-chandra everyday.

Join us for celebrating Deepotsava at ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna-Mandir from Oct 11 to Nov 9, 2011. Celebrations will begin everyday 7.30pm onwards.
