http://www.FTV.com/videos NEW YORK - There are a few ways to describe Thakoon's madcap Spring/Summer 2012 collection for New York Fashion Week. Cartoonish, Eastern, and cowboy are all words that come to mind. From the opening look, a pink-haired model wearing a bright turquoise blazer and matching cowboy hat, we knew this collection was going to be something else. And it was--filled with eclectic prints (paisley motifs from India), colors like orange, gold, and blue, metallic on saris, cowboy hats, and pink and blue hairdos. At times, we wondered if designer Thakoon Panichgul was trying too hard. Then again, you could see the fine tailoring in the clothes, the wisdom of a talented designer in the seams. This one is worth watching.
