Kara Kennedy Allen, the daughter of late Senator Ted Kennedy, dies, aged 51.
She was at this Washington DC health club Friday night when, according to her brother Patrick, her heart gave out.
The mother of two was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2002, but had been in remission.
She accepted the Presdiential Medal of Freedom on her father's behalf shortly before he died of brain cancer in 2009.
Kennedy, a filmmaker and TV producer, served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations and kept a low-profile as an adult.
