Somain-Orange balls in the sky/ des boules oranges dans le ciel

On Saturday , September 3rd, 2011, 9.25pm, in Somain (Northern France) , five of us observed orange balls high up in the sky . The balls seemed to fade moving to the West . As soon as they faded , other balls appeared low on the horizon. The phenomenom was silent. When observed with binoculars, the balls seemed to be vibrating following their course . One hour later , there was a strong wind followed by a thunderstorm , so we think it could be something linked to it.
"Ball lightning may be an atmospheric electrical phenomenom, the physical of which is still controversial. The term refers to reports of luminous , usually spherical objects which vary from pea-sized to several meters in diameter. it is sometimes associated with thunderstorms , but unlike lightning flashes , which last only a fraction of a second, ball lightning reportedly lasts many seconds."
