Max and Monkey tells the story of two best friends - Max, a good-natured college freshman, and his pet Monkey, a wise-cracking, sarcastic talking monkey. Monkey is the 'Oscar' to Max's 'Felix' in this 'Odd Couple' set in the 21st century comedy. In the pilot episode, Max talks with his ex-girlfriend, Jenna on the phone, while Monkey berates him for keeping in contact with her and being a pushover. The two then play a friendly video game, in which Monkey knocks the controller out of Max's hand to unfairly win the game. Monkey tries to get Max to lighten up, but Max, ever the responsible one, tells Monkey he has to go to work and won't be joining him for his questionable activities and sleeping in until 2 PM.
