Poland and the EU | Made in Germany

For years, every Polish government included the introduction of the euro among its stated goals. But now that some eurozone economies have been put on life support, the common currency has lost its shine in Poland. By holding on to the zloty, policymakers believe they can prevent the eurozone's woes from infecting their country.Currently Poland is doing perfectly well with the zloty. The Polish currency isn't pegged to the euro and can be appreciate or be devalued as needed. Warsaw has put introducing the euro on the back burner. Hardly any effort is being made to meet the Maastricht Criteria for eurozone membership. Report by Karl Harenbrock.
