Severe heat conditions is affecting locals in India's Bihar state. People are staying indoors and are drinking lots of water to beat the heat. Here's more.

Scorching heat wave conditions are keeping people indoors in Gaya City of India's Bihar state. It's as much as 110 degrees in the region.

[Manoj Yadav, Local]:
"There is not much water in the ponds or rivers. Everything has dried up. With this heat, the condition of the people is becoming worse. If we have any important work, then also we have to think for two minutes whether to go out in this heat or not. Then we do not even know whether we would come back or not."

All they can do is to try to stay hydraged.

[Kishore Narayan, Local]:
"The temperature is much higher than our tolerance level. So, we are spending days by drinking water and juice."

The provincial government closed all schools as a safety precaution.
