A week ago, U.S. Navy SEALs say they successfully killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. But in the town where the operation was carried out, many are skeptical bin Laden is really dead... with U.S. president Barack Obama holding back photos of bin Laden's corpse.

It's been a week since a U.S. Special Forces conducted a raid here in Abbottabad, Pakistan, claiming the life of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

But now conspiracy theories are circulating here on what really happened in the early hours of May 2nd.

[Taj Abbassi, Local Resident]:
"One week has passed but it is still not clear whether Osama bin Laden was killed, or if it was Zain instead. Or if they took him (bin Laden) to America, we just don't know."

U.S. president Barack Obama has decided not to show photographs of bin Laden's corpse.

Instead, videos were released of bin Laden at his compound.

But these home videos are not convincing local residents.

[Zakaullah, Local Resident]:
"After one week, we still don't know what really happened to Osama bin Laden. This is a plot to break Pakistan. If he was killed, they would have shown him everywhere on television. It is hard to understand why they gave him a sea burial."

Pakistan's military was caught off guard by the Abbottabad raid... and is now facing accusations that it was either too incompetent to catch bin Laden or even helped hide him.
