Bit by bit, Moroccan farmland is turning into desert. It's a big problem, as half of Moroccans live from agriculture. The fight against encroaching desertification is a matter of survival. A reforestation program has been introduced to slow down soil erosion.

And the forecast for the coming decades is dramatic. Annual average temperatures are set to increase by 1.5 to 2 degrees Celsius from 2021, and by as much as 4 degrees from 2071.
