Security is tight in Mumbai ahead of the arrival of US President Barack Obama. While many city streets will be accessible as usual... some restrictions will be put in place.

Mumbai police officials say they've made elaborate arrangements for when U.S. President Barack Obama arrives on Saturday.

During President Obama's visit to the city, people will not be banned from using popular roads.

[Rajneesh Seth, Joint Commissioner of Police]:
"We are making the security arrangements with a view to ensuring proper security and at the same time minimum inconvenience to the members of the public."

There will be some restrictions, however. Firecrackers will be banned. And people will not be allowed to park around the hotel where the president will stay.

[Vivek Phansalkar, Joint Commissioner of Police]:
"Basically, the restrictions will be from the morning of the 6th of November till the evening of 7th of November. The restrictions will be restricted to the time period in which the President of United States moves."

Some streets will be not accessible for the public beginning Saturday.
