Director Oliver Stone and cast members from his new film, 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' ring the opening bell at Times Square’s NASDAQ stock market in celebration of the movie’s premier. The new movie is a sequel to the 1987 film, ‘Wall Street’, staring Michael Douglas in his Academy Award winning role—Gordon Gekko.

The cast from 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' rang the opening bell at the NASDAQ Stock Market in New York's Times Square on Monday.

The film's stars Shia LeBouf, Josh Brolin and Carey Mulligan helped ring in the day with director Oliver Stone.

Michael Douglas, who plays the lead role of Gordon Gekko, could not be present. The 65-year-old actor is currently undergoing intensive treatment for stage 4 throat cancer. Douglas blames the cancer on his drinking habits.

'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' opens across North America on Friday, September 24th.
