Syd Valentine's Patent Leather Kids - Patent Leather Stomp

Not much is known about these musicians. Syd Vaentine's Patent Leather Kids were from Indianpolis, Indiana. These sides are done as a trio (consisting of Syd Valentine, t, James “Slick” Helms, p and Paul George, bjo), but when the band played live they had as many as ten pieces in the orchestra. This group recorded six other songs accompanying Blues singer Hattie Snow. This excellent record was made in 1929. By lack of visual material about the musicians or the composition, I included an array of pictures related to 1920's leather garments.
