Mature student Stephen Griffiths has been charged with the murders of three prostitutes in Bradford.

At a press conference outside Trafalgar House police station in Bradford, Peter Mann of the Crown Prosecution Service said there was sufficient evidence to charge Griffiths with all three killings.

The 40-year-old is accused of murdering Shelley Armitage, Susan Rushworth and Suzanne Blamires, whose remains were discovered in the River Aire at Shipley on Tuesday.

Ms Blamires, 36, disappeared from Bradford last week. She was last seen on Friday, while Ms Armitage, 31, has been missing since Monday April 26, and Ms Rushworth, 43, disappeared on June 22 last year.

Griffiths is expected to appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court on Friday morning and he will then be remanded into custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court in the afternoon.
