Ceylan, the 14 years old girl from the district of lice in the town diyarbekir died from a mortal shell shot by gendarme batallion in a field 200 metres from her home. the prosector and the doctor had been to the scene 2 days after the death as their safety was not guaranteed.
On april 23rd, seyfi a 14 years old boy, was severely beaten by a police with a butt off his rifle during a demonstration in hakkari on international childrens day. his head was cracked, he stayed in a hospital for weeks and he couldn t speak for 100 days.
Berivan, a 15 years old girl who was arrested at the protests in batman on 9th. october 2009, has been jailed for 7 years and 9 months after being convicted of terrorist offences, including allegedly throwing stones at the police. currently there are nearly 4000 children in the same status as berivan held in prisons for breaking the counter- terrorism legislation.
