A look at Punjabs post terrorism era

Punjab, January 11: A sunrise is a symbol of hope and promise of a new future. The northern Indian state of Punjab, which fell victim to terrorism in the 1980s and early 90s, recovered and began a new future. This happened as people of Punjab clearly rejected the demand for Khalistan, an independent Sikh state. After a decade of bloodshed and turmoil the people of Punjab returned to a democratic way of life and governance. Militancy was an unfortunate episode in the history of the state. And if it hadnt happened, Punjab would have been stronger and vibrant than it already is.
