More and more pets seem to be suffering psychological problems that are expressed in behavioral disturbances: abandonment syndrome,or hunting dogs that are oversensitive to noise -- not much use on a hunt!The animals are given antidepressants and ADHD medication. Now Utrecht University has opened the Netherlands' first psychiatric ward for animals. Owners and veterinarians had long been calling for such a central facility.
