00:00Sonic up against the wall.
00:02I love that they've finally learned how to draw Sally right, and Bunny's here.
00:07She's finally a redhead, never mind, she's got brown hair for the first time.
00:12At least that makes actual sense with how the rest of her fur is.
00:16It had to be intentional, because it doesn't say a different person drew the cover.
00:21It starts out boringly, with Antoine eventually saying that Eggman and his badniks have been harmless lately.
00:28Tails is made impossibly stupid by wondering if Eggman's gonna give up.
00:33Eventually, Sonic contradicts him.
00:36What's the point of the first two pages?
00:38Padding, that's right.
00:40They hear a boom from far away, and eventually Sonic surprisingly says sorry to Antoine,
00:45and says he'll look at his chart later, even though he knows it's worthless.
00:50It makes Sonic look all the more heroic.
00:51Seconds later, Sonic's in front of a giant robot with a design that's trying to be memorable,
00:57that's building a huge wall using trees from the great forest.
01:02And somehow, Tails and Sally wonder what it's for anyways.
01:06Why didn't Eggman do this years ago?
01:08It never made any sense that Eggman would keep the forest around right next to the city for years.
01:14Why does Sonic think he can talk Eggman out of this?
01:18The story pats itself out for a while.
01:21He wants to kill the great forest from the sun being blocked out by a dome,
01:25which would mean the heroes wouldn't be able to grow food for themselves anymore.
01:29If he explained that, it'd make sense.
01:32Eventually, Sonic jumps into the machine, which he would have done earlier.
01:36And his spin attack does nothing to it.
01:38Of course not, because even the SWAT bots are invincible in SadieM.
01:42But he had to try.
01:44And eventually, the heroes get chased away by flying B-robots and SWAT bots,
01:49because they somehow think there's too many to fight.
01:52It's not accurate to SadieM for them to be able to fight them at all.
01:56And that's pretty ironic, because this book came out in 1995.
02:00Almost two years after SadieM.
02:03So I admire that they still kept the differences.
02:06SadieM had to drag Sonic away from them,
02:10which is better than him being out of character.
02:13Eventually, back in their phase,
02:14Sonic calls the Sonic spin normally foolproof.
02:17So it is in this book.
02:19After some padding where most of them accept Eggman's victory,
02:24Sonic says they need a way to get rid of the SWAT bots.
02:27Eventually, SadieM says they could magnetize Eggman's metal wall
02:31with Rotor's giant magnet he apparently has.
02:34That's cool, and more creative than Sonic simply badnik bouncing all of them.
02:39Like, why couldn't he do that again?
02:41They should have explained that they were immune to it.
02:43It made sense for his friends to retreat, but not him.
02:46I thought it was going to be a wooden wall,
02:48because Eggman's making a wall out of trees.
02:51Apparently, there's going to be two walls.
02:53Sonic says great idea,
02:56and says he's going to need Bunny to draw some of her famous landscapes.
03:00Impressive that she can do that in this book.
03:03Sonic has a plan to have fake scenery rule a machine
03:06into following the path they want to take,
03:08instead of the rude Eggman made for it.
03:11This is like Wile E. Coyote painting a fake train tunnel for the Roadrunner.
03:15People can make incredibly realistic-looking landscape paintings.
03:20I wish Tails had done this instead of Bunny,
03:22so he'd still be some kind of genius.
03:25Later, we see Sonic and Sally and Antoine
03:27pulling a heavy wagon with a chest full of golden rings as bait.
03:32Golden rings, as opposed to the red rings
03:34that the writer doesn't know will exist yet.
03:37Why did he waste time specifying?
03:40Somehow, the wall's almost halfway around the forest already.
03:44Eventually, Eggman's told that if he stops making the wall,
03:47he'll get the chest full of rings,
03:49which logically would be fake.
03:51Naturally, Snively whispers to him that it could be a trick.
03:54Eggman whispers back,
03:56so the hero should know he's planning to trick them,
03:58but they don't have any other choice.
04:00What was the point of giving away that he's going to disappoint them
04:02a page before it happens?
04:05He eventually tries to stick his robots on them,
04:07and Sonic says he knows a better joke,
04:10and resorts to calling him Baldi
04:11before whistling to make a rotor pop up from under the rings
04:14and turn on the giant magnet.
04:17And I have to assume that the wall isn't made of magnetic metal,
04:20because it doesn't get affected.
04:23And yet, all of Robotropolis was magnetic in Archie Sonic.
04:27Which makes sense.
04:28Of course, we would have all of Robotropolis
04:30be made of a cheaper material.
04:32I wonder which came first,
04:33this or the Archie story I already saw this magnet in.
04:37It's more than to not bring Bunny to this.
04:39So eventually, Tails holds Bunny's fake scenery
04:42in front of the eyes of the wall-upper machine
04:44so it ends up going over a cliff.
04:46The heroes go home to explain why Bunny wasn't with them,
04:49as if the writer thought we were too dumb to figure that out,
04:52and the story ends with Sonic making a lame pun.
04:55This story by John Mitchelig
04:57was surprisingly good,
04:59because Sally and Antoine weren't obnoxious
05:01nearly every time they talked this time.
05:03Rotor making a magnet is old hat to me,
05:05and so was a Robot of Eggman's getting let off a cliff.
05:10But Eggman's plan to put a dome around the forest was new.
05:14It was Itchy 15 of Archie Sonic that had the magnet in it.
05:18That was July 1994,
05:20so that did the magnet idea first.
05:24Archie also did a Robot of Eggman's
05:26getting let off a cliff first.
