00:00They changed the face of music forever and decades on, the Beatles are still big business for Liverpool.
00:07It's estimated their legacy brings in around £100 million a year, attracting more than 600,000 visitors and supporting nearly 2,500 local jobs.
00:17And here in the city, the magic shows no signs of fading.
00:20From Penny Lane to Strawberry Field, the city is full of places where you can walk in the footsteps of the Fab Four.
00:26In West Arby, the Casbah Coffee Club, where the Beatles played some of their earliest gigs, is now also a place where you can stay.
00:33The Grade 2-listed building's been transformed into five apartments, each named after the band members who played and stayed there between 1960 and 1962.
00:43It was once home to the band's first drummer, Pete Best, as well as his brother, Rogue, who spent years restoring it in honour of their late mother, Mona, a key figure in the band's early days.
00:53I mean, she had this fantastic vision, you know, the Casbah Coffee Club itself.
00:57You know, for people who haven't been, that's history and it's making just downstairs, you know, this humble little coffee club which became the catalyst for the Mersey Beats sound.
01:06At Strawberry Field, now with its own visitor centre, cafe and shop, you can explore the grounds where John Lennon played as a boy and hear how he stayed a supporter of the Salvation Army long after the song made the place famous.
01:18On Menlove Avenue, you'll find Men Dips, the semi-detached home where John Lennon lived with his aunt Mimi.
01:25Step inside and it feels like time has stood still.
01:28The rooms are dressed just as they were in the 1950s, from the floral wallpapers to the wireless radio in the corner.
01:35It's here that John began writing songs and strumming his first guitar.
01:39Just a short drive away at 20 Forthland Road, you can see the modest terraced house where Paul McCartney grew up.
01:45This is where the teenage Lennon and McCartney would sit together, filling old school notebooks with the lyrics and melodies that would go on to become hits around the world.
01:55Both houses are now owned and preserved by the National Trust, who run guided tours.
02:00For Beatles fans, it's as close as you can get to being there at the very start.
02:04Over on Penny Lane, a community trust set up in 2003 keeps the famous streets heritage alive and welcomes more than 27,000 Beatles fans every year.
02:14The nearby Penny Lane pub sits on the site of John Lennon and Paul McCartney's former GP surgery with memorabilia on the walls and a beer garden out the back.
02:23Sir Barnabas Church is another stop along the road for fans.
02:26It's where a young Paul McCartney once sang in the choir.
02:29Liverpool's Royal Albert Docks, home to the Beatles story, devoted to telling the incredible story of the lives and music of the band.
02:37Home to an impressive collection of original, authentic memorabilia.
02:41You can journey down the long and winding road from George Harrison's first guitar stage on Lennon's last piano and beyond.
02:47From the clubs where they started to the streets and statues that keep their story alive.
02:52Liverpool's love affair with the Beatles is still going strong and for fans, it's a pilgrimage they keep on making.
02:59So glad you really enjoyed that story.
03:06So thank you for your role게ners, there's no place for our dreams andสcida, lots of years for people to show in next season.
03:11I'm out for you and I'm coming back to you from Berlin inns.
