00:43:42I'm Scott Stanford at WWE World Headquarters with some breaking news here on the WWE Network.
00:43:53Earlier today, WWE superstar Roman Reigns underwent emergency hernia surgery at a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
00:44:00Reigns was set to take on former Shield brother Seth Rollins at the Night of Champions pay-per-view at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.
00:44:06Now, unfortunately, due to the surgery, Reigns will not be able to compete at Night of Champions.
00:44:12Roman is out of surgery and the good news, resting comfortably at the hospital.
00:44:16He will remain there for overnight observation.
00:44:19Again, Roman Reigns has undergone emergency hernia surgery at a Nashville hospital.
00:44:23Reigns, one of the most physical big men on the roster, was scheduled to face off against Seth Rollins tomorrow at Night of Champions.
00:44:30He will not be competing in that match.
00:44:32Now, following the surgery, we spoke with Dr. Haley Mizgabi.
00:44:36He's the trauma surgeon who performed the operation.
00:44:39Mr. Reigns came to us throughout the emergency room, complaining of acute pain, apparently pain he did not have before.
00:44:47And when he was seen by my colleagues, emergency room physicians, and my other colleague, a surgeon in the emergency room,
00:44:53he had what we call a hernia that has become caught in a pocket in his boink.
00:44:59And I think in a person who is very active, as Mr. Reigns is, we look at probably at a rather lengthy time of recovery.
00:45:09In terms of heavy lifting, pushing, shoving, kicking, sports activity that increases the pressure within the abdomen and that interfere with the healing process of the hernia that would be impaired.

00:45:27Now, for those of you folks just joining us, WWE superstar Roman Reigns is out for tomorrow's Night of Champions pay-per-view right here on the WWE Network.
00:45:36Reigns is at a Nashville hospital recovering from emergency hernia surgery.
00:45:40Now, earlier today, we spoke to WWE's doctor, Chris Amon, who did confirm that Reigns would be out of action at least four to six weeks, but could be even longer, depending on his recovery.
00:45:51Okay, now, moments after the surgery, Roman had this to say to the WWE Universe.
00:45:56Well, yesterday I was here in Nashville promoting the Night of Champions in my match against Seth Rollins.
00:46:06I was laying in bed and all of a sudden I felt a really sharp pain, you know, right below my belly button in my bladder region.
00:46:17I tried to gut it out, but it just kept getting worse, so I ended up calling 911 and they sent an ambulance.
00:46:27Once I got to the hospital, the doctor said I had a hernia and I needed to go into emergency surgery, and here I am now.
00:46:40Well, an unfortunate situation to say the least, but you know what?
00:46:44We're all glad to see that Roman Reigns is on his way to hopefully a quick recovery.
00:46:48Obviously Roman, as well as the WWE Universe, disappointed that he will not be in action at Night of Champions.
