00:00This is not the first time we have talked about Witkoff going to speak to Vladimir Putin.
00:05It's actually his fifth time that he's gone to meet the Russian president,
00:10so it's nothing new in the discussion.
00:12However, is it fair to say this looked the friendliest meeting so far?
00:18Big smiles as the two men met each other?
00:21I think so.
00:22I also think that there's, you know, this is when the high-stakes game of diplomacy begins,
00:28I think, for Vladimir Putin.
00:30He recognizes there are a lot of cards on the table.
00:33There are a lot of options that Donald Trump has,
00:36at least with tariffs when it comes to some of Russia's allies,
00:41you know, countries that have been buying oil.
00:43And I think that Vladimir Putin wants to give the impression that he's willing to engage.
00:47He wants to make sure that Steve Witkoff leaves with a good impression.
00:51He wants Steve Witkoff to go back to Donald Trump and say,
00:54I think he's willing to talk. I think he's willing to engage with us.
00:57These are the key parts that Vladimir Putin has to project
01:02so that Steve Witkoff can feel like he has a partner that Donald Trump can speak to.
01:10And hopefully that can start the ball rolling for ceasefire talks.
01:14But I think the game that Vladimir Putin is playing
01:18is to make sure that he continues to do what he needs to do on the battlefield
01:23while also making sure that Donald Trump is engaged.
01:27There are many of them that have been taught there yet.
