00:00Hi everybody and welcome back to a new video. Today's video is going to be one that I don't
00:04usually do but I thought could be very helpful for a lot of you out there because I struggle
00:09with it too and that is covering up acne scars and trying to even out our skin tone. Now I do
00:16want to say letting your skin breathe and not wearing makeup is really beneficial to helping
00:20your skin heal which is what I do. I only really wear makeup when I film or if I really need to
00:25and I'm going out somewhere. Anyways I'm going to come a little closer just so you guys can see
00:30what I am dealing with. I do have live acne or like cystic acne spots but I have a lot of scarring
00:37and it's all through here. So this is basically my struggle zone and then I have a little one right
00:43here which I don't normally get. So I'm going to show you guys how we do that. I have put a little
00:49bit of powder through my brows and then I did my eyeshadow partially. So I'm just going to be
00:54focusing on skin and how to get a nice flawless-ish skin without using a lot of products. I don't
01:01use heavy foundations either so that's what we're going to do. So I love beauty blenders. That's how
01:07I apply my makeup. I don't really use brushes to apply anything and I am a powder foundation girl.
01:13So we're going to go in with our concealer first. I'm also not using a primer today. I know that might
01:18freak out some people. If you prefer to use a primer go ahead and use a primer. I am currently testing
01:23out not using one but I have moisturized. Please remember too that if you do have really acne
01:28prone skin and you're really oily do use a moisturizer because if you don't your skin is
01:33just going to produce more oil to compensate for your skin's dryness and if you are dry definitely
01:39use a moisturizer so that the makeup doesn't like stick and cake. So we have moisturized. So I have
01:45two concealers that are my favorites. I have the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer which has been a favorite
01:50for years and then I also have the Bare Minerals Bare Skin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer.
01:56This one is very very dewy whereas this one's more of a matte finish in my opinion. So today what I'm
02:04going to do is go with the Tarte instead of the really dewy foundation only because I am very oily.
02:10I'll take my excuse my dirty mirror my concealer and just go right under my eyes like that. I don't do
02:16too much just a bit and then we're going to blend that out and down first.
02:27Okay and that looks really funny and just kind of like bring it down but that is how I do my
02:33under eyes. You can go back in and do a little bit more as you can see I have a little bit of dark
02:37circle showing through kind of like right here. You can go back through and do a little bit more
02:40if you would wish. Then the next thing I do is dab a little bit of the concealer on the back of my hand.
02:46I do not go directly over the acne spots just in case there's bacteria. I don't want to put it all
02:52over and then put it back in the tube. So that is how I do this part. So we have our concealer on the
02:57back of our hand and then we're just going to go through and dab. Also try to clean your beauty
03:01blenders and your brushes as much as possible. So we're going to do this side and just look at the
03:06difference. We're going to focus on all of these bits so I just start kind of like dabbing
03:10lightly and then blending it all in. This is almost like your foundation. That's almost how
03:16I use my concealer. And then I also go into the crevice of my nose and that is an area that tends
03:25to cake or build up so just make sure you get it in there really well.
03:29And to be honest I really don't put too much only because I find that less is more and the more you
03:40cake on sometimes the more it separates throughout the day at least on my skin. And when you have like
03:45bumps or active acne it tends to like cling to it so try to just I find that doing a light hand is
03:53really helpful. Okay so as you can see it is much better and this you can go over with if you would
04:04like to but I don't. I like my skin to still be able to breathe so you can still see it a little
04:08bit but remember you can go back over it with more concealer. So this is the difference between this
04:12side and then this side. So I mean I think it's pretty good. It makes you feel like yes we can get
04:20up we can go out and you're not burying and putting so much on your face. So now we're just
04:26going to go in and do this side and then I'm going to show you how to set it.
04:35So what I'm doing now is I find that if it is still peeking through a bit I'll take just a little
04:40bit more right on the point of my beauty blender. You can also use the point of a brush if you're more
04:44comfortable with brushes and then you just tap it right on the top of that dark spot.
04:50And then just really focus on blending that out and that's how I really get the coverage.
05:03Okay so this is kind of how I do mine and we look really really ghostly and really really funny but
05:09that is okay. We're going to bring life back to the face very shortly. So this is like the concealer
05:13routine that I do and as you can see it's much more even. It's not as red blotchy and inflamed.
05:19It's inflamed but it's hidden. Then I'm going to go in with a setting powder and I just use the
05:24Fit Me Maybelline Translucent Matte and Poreless Normal to Oily Skin. You can use any setting powder
05:30you would like and I just do this just because it makes it more smooth so when you put blush and
05:35bronzer on it doesn't cling to it and stick to where you've put the concealer otherwise you're
05:39going to have really patchy like spots with your blush and your concealer or your blush and your
05:43bronzer. So I go in with a brush like this. This is a real techniques brush. I just spin it in
05:49and then I dab it under my eyes
05:53like this
05:57and then all of the areas that I put it. I'm not really too precise or like
06:03crazy. I don't bake or anything like that. I'm just
06:07this is just like me every day la-dee-da. Me every day la-dee-da. That's funny.
06:15Okay then the next thing I do is go in with my Bare Minerals Bare Pro powder foundation in the
06:22shade light natural 09 and again I just do a really simple dusting. You can tell I love this stuff. I
06:28have hit pan and I just go in with a fluffy brush. This is a royal and lang nickel brush. I believe I got
06:33it at Walmart. So good. And then I just kind of like lightly dust over my face. I don't like pack
06:40it on but if you do have areas where the acne is still showing through I usually tap this in and
06:46I'll dab the area instead of like lightly swirling and you want to be really light with your swirling
06:51because you don't want to move your concealer around too much.
06:55I don't know I think this look is really appropriate for like daytime and just school
07:07and going to work. It hides things but you're still able to breathe and it's kind of like
07:13subtle where you're not really wearing like a heavy thick liquid foundation. Next I'm going to go in
07:19and bring life back to the face. I'm going in with the Benefit Cosmetics Blush Bar. I got this for
07:24Christmas last year. It was on sale and it's really really well. It's really really well. It's really
07:29really amazing. It has the hula bronzer in it which I wear all the time and then I go back and forth
07:33between Dandelion and California for my blushes. They're both really pretty and I will say the hula
07:38bronzer be very careful. Go in with a really light hand. I have made that mistake plenty of times
07:43so I'll dab in and then tap it off and then I'll just lightly go right about here
07:52and then here. I don't really do too much with this because you don't need that much.
08:04And then just kind of focus on the perimeter of my face and just kind of warm up the cheekbone
08:09area. And you can take a little bit down your jaw if you would like.
08:15And that's like simple bronze done. That was also a real techniques brush by the way that I used for
08:20the bronzer. And then I'm also going, I almost dropped the whole palette. I'm going back in. I'm
08:25going to use Dandelion today on a Sonia Kashuk brush. Got it at Target. And then just kind of like
08:31smile and brush this along my cheeks. And it gives you just a really pretty, healthy glow.
08:41Next, I am going to spray my face. And this is the Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray. You can use
08:48any setting spray. My other favorite is the Morphe Setting Spray. It's amazing.
08:52And then once you spray your face, try not to like what I just did, wrinkle your forehead. And then
09:02I just go back through with my Beauty Blender and just kind of like push everything in place.
09:10You don't have to do this stuff. You can just let it air dry. But I like to do it.
09:14After your setting spray is mostly dry, I go back in with the highlights. And it's like the best way
09:20to get a blinding highlight. And I'm using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Sugar. And I
09:26go in with the Starburst. I just dab in there, tap it off. And I actually lately have been putting it
09:32like right on the apples of my cheeks instead of like all throughout here because I do have texture
09:36here. And when I put it there, it really shows. So I'm just going to tap it and then put it right
09:41on the apples of my cheeks just so when I smile, it's a little glowy.
09:46And then I also take it on the tip of my nose, down the bridge of my nose.
09:56And then I'm not really precise with the eyebrow highlights. So I just kind of honestly dust
10:02it up there. So it's kind of like a simple, effortless, quick, easy makeup. And then the
10:07last step is just applying mascara and make sure that your setting spray is dry before you apply
10:12your mascara. The mascara that I'm currently using is the Tarte Man Eater Mascara. This
10:22lash mascara is amazing because it like lifts and lengthens your lashes. So I really love
10:28it. And we are all complete. This is what it looks like. So it's not a hundred percent
10:46covered. You can still see it poking through, but that's okay because I want my skin to breathe.
10:50And this is my simple glowy kind of go out, run your errands, go to school, go to work makeup
10:55look. I hope you guys enjoyed it. If you did and you found it helpful, give this video a
10:59big thumbs up and we'll see you again very soon. Bye.
